This month I'm participating in my metal groups' blog carnival. Several members of the EtsyMetal team will be blogging about our personal Jewelry Boxes. We will share our favorite pieces and the special meanings behind them.
"So what's in your jewelry box, Danielle?" you ask.
Ironically, not much.
I am the jeweler who doesn't wear much jewelry.
Working in the studio or in my home office, I don't wear jewelry, not to mention many times it's not safe when working with certain tools. I do, however, try to wear a pair of earrings or sometimes a necklace when I leave the studio.
My favorite go-to pair of earrings are one of my own designs. They are long, swinging marquises with a small diamond. Each marquise is pin hinged, allowing for great movement. They are super light weight and very easy for me to wear on a daily basis. These were part of my old Marquise Collection and were never big sellers---which always made me sad because I LOVE them!
Another one of my current go-to earrings is a new design in my Sticks-n-Stones Collection. These Sticks-n-Stones earrings are another pair that is very easy for me to wear. They are light weight, have great movement, color and are sparkly. :)
A few items in my jewelry box are other jewelers' designs. I cherish a pair of earrings and a bracelet made by Samantha Freeman that were given to me by my husband over 20 years ago when we were dating.
Another piece in my jewelry box that I hold dear is a bracelet that was made by my grandfather. When I was a teenager he gave me this cuff. My memory is foggy, but I think he said he made it when he was in the Navy during WWII.
