Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of meeting (and teaching) Don and Lorie. Don had reached out to me, inquiring about my Wedding Ring Workshop. He and Lorie were about to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and he was planning a special trip. I hope you enjoy their sweet story as much as I did...
I was put in charge of our 25th anniversary trip and had plenty of time to plan, so I wanted to make it a special adventure for both of us to remember. I put together a series of chests with themes and gifts to highlight our stops on the trip and our years of marriage together.
We have always enjoyed Chattanooga, TN so that is where I began our adventure with a Train Theme: staying on track...
My wife’s wedding band had become misplaced many years back and we had been without them for far too long. Over the past few years she had hinted that she would like for us to have wedding bands again. My goal was not just to get new wedding bands along the way.---Which I could buy at any store, but to somehow find rings that would be more personal to both of us. When I found Danielle Miller and her Workshop online, I knew this was the perfect solution! Danielle's Greenville, SC studio would be our halfway point and the highlight of our trip!
When I presented Lorie with this trunk's theme (King and Queen Theme: to be as one - as a ring makes a full circle), she said "I have no earthly idea what today's journey entails!"
She was completely surprised and we both thoroughly enjoyed making our rings for one another. Danielle was a blessing the entire time, guiding us through the process.
We now have a finished product that is not only an example and representation of our love for one another for 25 years, but is very personal because of the time and hands that created them!
We have always wanted to visit Charleston, SC. So that was naturally the next stop on our journey... with a History Theme: 25 years of history.
And we completed our trip with a Key theme: Family is the key!
Thanks to Don and Lorie for sharing their story and I wish them another 25+ years of happiness together!
